In this workshop, Dr. Crumbley will give you insights into parenting children of a

different race than your own by identifying the special needs of children in

transcultural foster care or adoptions. He will share ways to develop positive

racial and cultural identity and the impact of transracial placements on the child and family.

Dr. Crumbley received his masters and doctorate in

social work from the University of Pennsylvania

and is in private practice as a family therapist, trainer

and consultant. He has been a guest on the BBC, PBS, Geraldo, Montel

Williams Show and Nickelodeon and has consulted with

60 Minutes, The New York Times and The Oprah Winfrey

Show on the topics of transracial adoptions and

kinship care.

He has also provided expert testimony and briefings at

the United Nations, U. S. House of Representatives, U. S. Senate, Pennsylvania

Multi-Ethic Placement Task Force and Philadelphia City Council.

Dr. Crumbley has authored a book called Transracial Adoptions and Foster Care .
